The Event Organisers Handbook is a step by step guide to anyone planning an event.
Lincolnshire Event Safety Partnership (LESP) exists to provide advice to local events Safety Advisory Groups (SAG) to enable them to provide proportionate, timely, accurate and consistent guidance and advice to event organisers enabling them to hold safe events.
LESP members will play an involved and active role relating to their area of expertise and are committed to encouraging safe practice at events across Lincolnshire.
SAGs are a multi-agency group whose members are competent in their own specialism for their agency. SAGs exist in all district council areas of Lincolnshire, and they will invite all events they become aware of that meet the SAG criteria.
Further information about SAGs can be found in the Event Organisers Handbook. This Handbook can also guide event organisers through the event planning process and contains contact details for relevant SAGs.
Tell us about your event
Ideally you should inform LESP as soon as possible that an event is taking place, especially if you are
intending to stage a major event where planning is likely to take up to one year.
You can contact LESP in a number of ways:
• Direct contact with one of LESP’s members (see useful contacts in the Event Organisers Handbook)
• Direct contact with another local authority who may refer you to LESP, for example if you are
planning a marathon that goes through more than one local authority area.
• Contact with your local Safety Advisory Group by checking the website of the local authority area
your event is taking place in.

Event Management Plan Template
The Event Management Plan template is the preferred plan template for all events in Lincolnshire. It includes guidance on what to include within each section.
Complete the Risk Assessment Template to identify the information you need in your event management plan.
Lost and Found Child or Vulnerable Person Policy
Every event needs a Lost and Found Children & Vulnerable Persons policy
It is the responsibility of the event organiser to undertake a full de-brief of their event. This will help you evaluate your event and the planning and enable you to implement any changes identified in the future
