Storm Éowyn

We are warning motorists to expect strong winds today as Storm Éowyn sweeps through the region.

Gusts of up to 60mph are set to arrive in the East Midlands between 6am and 9am on Friday morning as south-westerly winds peak in the early hours.

Experts believe those travelling along the coast could see even stronger gales up to 70mph.

Motorists are being urged to leave plenty of time for their journeys and to plan for delays and disruption across the county.

No significant rain has been forecast for the region on Friday at the time of writing, but the weather is subject to change and the picture is always evolving.

However, people in Lincolnshire could see heavier rain on Sunday.

We will monitor the situation over the coming hours and will provide additional updates when and if required.

If you encounter a hazard – such as a fallen tree, street light or telephone pole – please contact Highways and report the issue.

You can do so by phoning the number 01522 782070 or by visiting the Lincolnshire County Council website and reporting a fault.
